: What Winch to get

Hey guys,

Now that the wheelin season is coming up here in Alaska, I'm thinking about getting a winch for my bronco. I'm thinking of either the Warn 12000 or the Warn15000 or the HS9500i(think thats the one).

Was just wondering which on I really need. I drive a 85 Bronco with 35" tires.

Also thinking of modifying my bumper to hold it, I currently have a smitty bumper that I bought last x-mas so it's still pretty new and still all nice and shiny. Is this a smart thing to try? or would it be smarter and safer to go a head and sell this bumper and buy a winch bumper? I know smitty has a winch bumper that looks like mine.....

i wouldn't trust a shitty built to hold my winch. especially one that wasn't designed for it. for a fullsize bronc, go with the 12,000 or if you want over kill, go with the 15,000

Don't trust your LIFE or TRUCK to a shitty built bumper.
Your better off to pay a local welder 100 bucks to hand craft you a bumper.
And a 12000 is plenty for your rig.

You should care, the first thing that you learn should now be that shitty built stuff isn't worth a crap. That is valuable info. You should search the board before you buy any new stuff to find out peoples opinion of what you are looking at buying. Most people on this board are very knowledgable and they will give you real world feadback of products that will tell you if they are worth buying. It will save you money in the long run....

No No. I didn't mean who cares about the stuff... I'm not about to put shit on my truck that will indanger my equipment, other peoples equipment or peoples lives.. That just aint happening.
