I came across a good deal a a '93 NV4500. Could anyone explain my transfer case options. I am building a truck from the ground up and would like to use a passenger side drive case.

I have been doing my own research and it looks like a NP205 from a TH400 may work (32 spline). I realize that the case would be 8 bolt, and my tranny is 6......

Do i need to find a 205 with the long input shaft?

Advanced Adapter makes a kit for the 10 (male), 27 (male), and 32 (female) spline NP205's with the figure 8 pattern to go behind the NV4500. Check out page 42 of their online catalog/buyers guide. AA #50-0206 will adapt a 32 spline female 205 from a 1 ton TH400 to the NV4500 tranny with some minor trimming.

The 85-91 1ton version of the 205 is a 6 bolt pattern and will mate up with some minor work or a spacer if you have the long input shaft on the 205.I'm going to do this also.I already have the t-case but haven' had a chance to find a 4500.

I changed the output shaft in mine and am going to use a D300.

I am going to have to check the advanced adaptors catalog. I was not aware they made an adaptor. I am scared to see what it is going to cost me. I will let you all know if i am successful in adapting it mayself, I was thinking if the shafts would meet, making a bolt plate style adaptor would be a piece of cake.

so I just checked out the Advanced Adaptors website. It looks like for a cool $514.00 could bolt them together no sweat...

Looking at the tranny, it apears that advanced would replace the entire rear adaptor (rather large aluminum component) If a guy was to leave the OEM "adaptor" on the rear of the tranny could a simple piece of plate steel/aluminum be used to bolt the 8 bolt pattern to the 6? This may be a stupid question, if it is let me have it. Once I get the t-case i am going to take a look at this option and give a report on my progress.
