I am getting a 700R4 built. I have an np 205 with a male 10 spline input shaft. The 700R4 has an extended housing, but how will they be put together? Also, are the 208 and 205 adapters the same? Thanks

I have a 700R4 attached to my np205. Not sure what you mean by "extended housing" on your trans... but mine is just a 27-spline th350 version np205 with the factory adapter. I added a ~2" spacer between the trans and adapter, trimmed 1/8" off the trans output shaft and bolted it up.

You input is female right? I have the male input. I have an adapter for a 203 now, but I need one for the 205.

do a search, been covered a few times on here in the last couple of months.

all i can tell you is make sure you build a proper x-member, or you will break the back of the th700 case off.

If it's a 10 spline male input on the 205, I think those are only for manual tranny's. My SM465/205 combo uses 10 spline, and that's all I've ever heard of that comes in 10 spline. The tranny has a male stubby 10 spline output, as well as the 205. Then there is basically a splined tube that connects the splined stubs inside the adapter. I think for the 700R4 you'll want to find a 27 spline NP205 and an adapter that fits a TH350/700R4.

I could be wrong I suppose...
