I have a '94 ford f350 and the ball joints are going out, how hard is it to change them myself? i really dont want to pay someone else to do it unless i have to. there any special tools required for the job? is there anywhere where i can get some info on dana 60s on the internet? thanks in advance.

Strip the front down, take off the knuckles. Go get a ball joint press from HF, rent from Autozone.. soak 'em down good with PB Blaster. Press out, press in. Or just take the knuckles and joints to a machine shop and let them press them, maybe 50 bucks.

Couple of tips, when removing, torque the press down as tight as you can, I stood on the press with one foot, then stood on the wrench. Take a 5lb. and tap the threaded bolt, the slight shock will unseat the joints.

When installing the new joints, place them in the freezer the night before, then install with moderate pressure.

The kit Harbor Freight sells is a good deal, and you can use it for axle and drive shaft u-joints.
