I've been looking for a stout bumper/tire carrier for my FJ62 for a while now and from what I have seen the 4+ bumper looks like the way to go. The only problem is that I don't see it advertised anywhere on the man a fre site or catalog. I know Henry C. had his built by Renegade Fabrication, but I live nowhere near AZ. Where can I find one of these bumpers, or a similar unit. My main concern is having a stout tire carrying bumper that provides quarter panel protection.

MAF sells it. The picture in the catalog is of the FJ-55 model.
I purchased a rollover FJ-60 with one of these bumpers that was made by Reneade and sold through MAF.
I seriously considered buying a FJ-60 just to be able to keep this bumper. Fine, fine, fine craftsmanship.
If you call MAF, expect a long wait. They order them all custom. Good thing is that it has a lifetime, no nonsense warranty.

I *love* my Renegade Fabrication bumper, it is the THIRD custom bumper on my Land Cruiser and the only one I've truly liked. It's well-designed, well thought-out and superbly fabricated, my only regret is not having it powdercoated when I bought it, I was in AZ at the time and a simple spray paint job worked well, but now that I'm on the Rust Coast (er, I mean, *East* Coast), it needs to get blasted and powdercoated.
Mine's somewhat of a prototype, living close to Dave Gore's place, I was able to incorporate certain features that aren't on the production version. I was also present for the entire assembly and witness to Dave's attention to detail and amazing welding skills.
I don't know how much MAF wants for them, but whatever it is, I think this is the best 60 series rear bumper you can get. The Kaymar looks like a cheesy children's toy next to it, I'm not even going to waste bandwidth on the Stout, and the handful of other custom ones I've seen from other shops just don't measure up to it.

Hey Nolen, you still have that bumper?$?$?$;) I have a Renegade +4 on my 40 and that thing is a beast. I will get one of the rears from him for my 60. Note: they're a lot cheaper if you go straight to the source instead of ordering through Man it ain't Free.:p

Thanks guys.
Henry, could you post a few pics of your custom version? Also, how should I go about contacting Renegade, or whatever the source of of these bumpers might be? A phone number, or a web address would be great.
Thanks again

I can't post pictures of it right now, they're stored in a ZIP disk and my external ZIP drive gave up the ghost last week!
Give Dave Gore a call, his number (for Renegade Fabrication) should be in the back of Toyota Trails. I warn you, he's hard to get a hold on, in my experience the best time to catch him on the phone is around 8-9 AM his time (AZ).
