: Toyota Turbo induction/injection stuff
mdd0127 06-28-2005, 11:22 PM I was just wondering if any one would be interested in the factory manifolds, fuel injection system(complete), 2 CT-26(Supra) turbos, and intake piping. I also have an autometer fuel pressure guage, big bosch inline fuel pump(870hp),supra 440cc injectors, 2 front mount intercoolers(mods required), and an ATI adjustable FMU. The truck ran perfectly except the ct20 turbo leaked oil. I want to convert to propane and won't need anything but the long block. All the items are located in Cortez,CO 81321. There is so much stuff that it would take forever to list it all. Everything will be VERY reasonably priced. Make an offer. I'll sell it one piece at a time or make a special deal for all. If interested, let me know, I'll email pics/prices. The sooner the better(cheaper?). My new rig is on jackstands in my friend's driveway and I need some cash soon. Thanks, Danny

mdd0127 07-01-2005, 04:19 PM I have a completely exocaged tube bed 86 extra cab toyota. Everyone I know has switched to a 4.3, but I want to keep it wierd. I have a Tubo reg. cab that I'm using the driveline out of. I'm putting a blower and propane injection on the turbo long block. Gas is high here and I think the octane rating is a lie. The propane should compensate for the altitude and it's really high octane so it should work well with the motor. I'm using a V6 axle in the rear(detroit as soon as I can afford it) and a welded/trussed 84 toy axle up front. I'm dragging the turbo truck to my friend's house tonight to start switching everything over into the exo truck. I should have it mostly together this weekend. I'm hoping to have the motor done in the next two months. I still need to get the block o-ringed and buy the necessary arp studs and je pistons so the motor doesn't explode. I've desinged an airbagged cantilever suspension and hydraulic drive transfer system for it, but I don't make very much money here so that is a long term goal. I'll be able to adjust the height of the truck 2 feet. When it's up high, the springs will be soft and when it's lowered down, the suspension will be firm. I won't have any axles or driveshafts to break, or be in the way. My friends are skeptical, but eventaully I'll get it done. I need about $6k to do it. It's pretty easy to get that much wrapped up in a conventional drivetrain and I'd rather at least try it my way and if it doesn't work, I'll have a very interesting yard sculpture. That's all I can think of right now.
mdd0127 07-02-2005, 03:40 PM I took a bunch of good pics today. $500 takes it all!!! I've got twice that much in it and I spent 4 months on ebay looking for the best deals. Should make 300HP@20psi if your bottom end and head gasket can handle it. I can email pics if anyone is interested.

Our son is always morphing his turbo Toy!
;)
mdd0127 07-04-2005, 12:21 PM If you need any of this stuff, let me know soon. I got my suspension together yesterday and I need shocks and propane inj. bad. I thought I would be happy with the progress but it's killing me to see it sitting there. I'd attach a pic of my rig if I could figure out how and you'd know what I mean. I want to hit some trails soon. Willing to trade for stuff I need. Make an offer! I really don't want to screw with ebaying all of this. I'd rather see it go to a wheeler than a tuner. By the way, what does "btt" and "ttt" mean? I see it posted all the time.
e cliff 07-04-2005, 06:57 PM email me some pics ecliff4@juno.com

mdd0127 07-05-2005, 12:17 AM Believe it or not, I figured that out on my own right after I posted that. Sorry, I've spent more time turning wrenches and wheeling than I have on the computer. I only suck when it's truly necessary.
mdd0127 07-05-2005, 03:56 PM Am I asking too much? I'm sending out lots of pics but no responses. If I send you pics please respond. I'm open to offers. I wasn't planning on having three involuntary days off for the holiday and it's screwing things up. At this rate I might have my rig together by the time it snows.

slozukimc 07-06-2005, 09:27 PM $500 shipped? Let me know. Thanks, Mike
mdd0127 07-07-2005, 07:00 AM Last I heard, you were trying to sell your Toy to pay taxes. Win the lotto or something? It would probably cost $100 to ship everything. Were you wanting the factory fuel injection stuff too, or just the upgrade stuff? I might be able to do the upgrade stuff for $500 shipped, but I think adding in the factory intake manifold would make it too expensive to ship at that price. If you're serious, I'll get an exact shipping quote.
slozukimc 07-07-2005, 09:04 AM NOPE didn't win the lottery.....I will keep the Toy if I can sell other things first....Figure if I have to sell it I could just sell the extras along with it if I got them. Might make it sell better as I have not had any interest in the truck for $1500. Won't take less than that for it. I figured I could E-bay the parts I don't need as well as the ones I remove from the truck doing the upgrade to recoup some of my costs. What is the bottom line price for everything shipped?
I have been talking with a gent on the Yahoo wastewatts group who is looking for info on running ICE's on propane......Would you mind if I pass along your e-mail to him?
Thanks, Mike
mdd0127 07-07-2005, 10:59 AM Here's an idea. One turbo(the uncracked one), fuel pump, ati fmu, 440 cc injectors, autometer fuel pressure gauge, and one intercooler for $450 shipped. You would need to trim the lower radiator support to fit the intercooler. The injectors would need the wiring plugs and the fuel rail/intake machined to fit. The machine shop here told me it would be $40 to make the injectors fit and if you're near a big city it shouldn't be too hard to find the wiring plugs. The fuel pump is inline, so you would have to replace your in tank pump with a piece of hose. You would need to drill out the factory exhaust manifold a little to fit the CT26 and have a downpipe made. The coolant line that loops around the alternator needs to be replaced with a piece of coolflex hose. There's a really good post on the 22rte group about the conversion. It would be wise to get a 5mge AFM and swap your 22rte guts into it too. I've seen these go for $10 on ebay. They flow a lot better and a k&n fits right on them. You'll need a boost controller and gauge too. This would be a really cheap upgrade and I guarantee you won't miss the ct20. I want you to know what you would be getting into. I'm doing the propane/blower thing because I found a blower cheap and I'm at 7000 feet and the gas sucks. This way, you wouldn't be paying to ship a bunch of stuff you don't need. I've got over $1000 in this stuff so I'll break down and put everything on ebay before I sell it for less. The place to go for propane info is gotpropane.com.
mdd0127 07-07-2005, 04:22 PM What are ICE's? I haven't seen this abbreviation before. I know I'm going to feel stupid when I find out.

How much will the shipping be for everything? :D I've got the $500....Just need to know the shipping cost. Do you prefer Paypal or a money order? Not too concerned with how long it takes to get here so the cheapest shipping(USPS regular mail should do) will be what i want. I can send you a money order on Monday or transfer money into my Paypal account when i hear from you. i can use the spare parts for another project I am sure. I'll try to give you a call today. Thanks, Mike
mdd0127 07-08-2005, 08:17 PM That's too much! ICE=engine! Never woulda thunk it! Easy- inject propane+spark+air+BOOST=hold on!!!

And then there are ECE's...External combution engines like a steam engine. :shaking: Mike

Thanks

mdd0127 07-09-2005, 10:46 AM One is from a Volvo 740 and the other is from a Saab 900 turbo. They both have 2.5" in/outs and they come out right around the radiator. The cores are about the size of the Toyota radiator. A little trimming would be necessary to get them to fit. If you'd be running over 15psi it would be a good idea to use a bov/bpv so the intercooler doesn't blow. They have plastic endcaps so bad boost spikes can kill them. There's a pic posted on the 22rte group on yahoo. I can't figure out how to post one here. If you want I could email you one.

So....Which one goes for the "package deal"? Am I going to have trouble with "blowing" the intercooler with those parts? If so is there a better choice for an intercooler than these? I want dependable not a pain in the ass that breaks when you run it hard. Mike
mdd0127 07-10-2005, 12:28 PM I was going to include the volvo intercooler in that package. The outlets fit closer around the radiator. The saab one is a little wider. Unless you're running 20psi with no blow off/bypass valve either one should be totally reliable. I've heard of grand national guys using these at 15psi with no problems at all, but when you get into the big turbos, they make more inertia so when you snap the throttle shut, boost can spike as high as 90psi for just an instant. If you don't install a bypass valve, the intercooler can crack. For the 22rte application 15 psi is about the maximun reliable boost anyway. I've heard of people running 25psi for race apps but they frequently blow head gaskets and pistons. Mosk is making 250hp@12psi if I remember right. LC sells aluminum intercoolers for about $500 but you still have to run a bpv so you don't blow those up. These will be fine for the 22rte unless you are going for ultimate hp. If so, be prepared to sink $10K in your motor and still break things. Reliability vs. power is the oldest compromise in the engine tuner book. Did the zuk sell?

ZUK SOLD!!!!......I have put in for the money to be transferred into my Paypal account so you can start packing stuff up for me. If you would could you send me an invoice listing all of the parts and stuff? I will pay it as soon as the money is transferred to my account. I will also be making a trip to VA for a few days but I should be able to use a PC there to send you the money if need be. I will be back by friday at the latest anyway.
I really appreciate all of the time and advice on this and that is basically what sold me on buying the parts.........I wish everyone was so helpfull about thier items for sale!!!!
What is considerred a fair price to "o"-ring a block? I don't want to have ANY problems with this truck when I get done so I am going to pull it down and do it right with all new bearings, forged pistons and all. I can get machine work done here for $60 per hour so I better get it done now rather than blowing a head gasket pulling a load on the interstate somewhere. I also intend on putting this engine in an extra cab pickup or a 4Runner eventually to be my "better than new old" daily driver. I figure if I get an 86-88 rust free from the South or West and put about $5000 into new bushings, balljoints, bearings and such i can build a better truck than I can buy new for way less money. MAYBE?????
Mike
mdd0127 07-10-2005, 08:35 PM I pulled the driveline out of my toy today and I'll be taking my motor to get it o-ringed,je pistons, arp everywhere, and all the prerequisite rebuild stuff done. I'll let you know what I get hit for. You can build a truck that can go anywhere and outrun a vette for a third of the price of a new one. I'll get everything together tomorrow and send you an invioce. I'm going to get some current pics of the war wagon tomorrow. It's going to be a scary truck!

Sounds cool........I'll be looking for the invoice and I will get the money out to you as soon as it is in my Paypal account. :) THANKS, Mike
PS: OH MAN IS IT GONNA BE FUN MESSIN WITH THE KIDS AROUND HERE THAT THINK THEY ARE TUNERS  :shaking: :flipoff2: I know I would be embarassed to get my doors blown off by a stock LOOKING Toyota 4x4. :D Can't ask for a better sleeper!
mdd0127 07-11-2005, 06:46 AM I whoop the fastest "tuner car" in town with the powerchoke running on vegetable oil! That's funny! I call them wiener dog races-They look like they're going fast, sound like they're going fast and they even think they're going fast, but they're not. This guy has a 240sx tuned with wheels, a body kit, a big tailpipe, and a k&n and he drives everywhere in first gear so his car sounds mean. It's too much. I'll get you an invoice after work. Everything will be ready to ship tomorrow.

That is funny!......There are a few around here that are pretty quick but not real fast. Couple of SVT and GT Mustangs around that run pretty strong but shouldn't be too much trouble with twice the traction  .....Mike
mdd0127 07-13-2005, 02:36 PM I think the upgrade package is sold but I still have 1 ct26 turbo and a huge front mount intercooler and the factory toyota turbo efi system.
