the starter for my 460 won't crank after the engine warms up. Cold it cranks like a mo-fo. I thought maybe it was battery, replaced that. Then someone suggested the timing was too advanced, so i retarded it some.

Any suggestions to help prevent this? It only has manifolds, not headers... so basicaly it's like i can start it once and don't shut it off cause it aint gonna re-start:rolleyes:

Check the battery cables, both ends...usually it is caused by worn bushings in the endcaps of the starter. The bushings get warm and oversize, then the armature drags on the inside of the starter and the battery can't handle the extra draw.
