Patuey! Damn thing. Actually I'm a bit embarrassed here. Stupid problem but I cant figure it out. Here's the dealeo.
Griffin's in. Tubes are on. Same thermostat and pump. No changes to the TBI. Bought a brand new 16lb. Stant with releaf lever. She heats up, I top her off. Cap on, coolant keeps spitting out the overflow. Warm, Cold or Hot. And it does'nt stop. Just keeps spitting out like there's no cap at all.
Bad cap? I dont get it. Anyone have a clue? Thanks.
somtimes you just cant top them off :) also try replacing the cap to 16/18 lb cap maybe yours is bad:nuke:

What happens with the cap off? Bubbles? If it's doing it when cold, I'd suspect a head gasket....lets hope not.

My new AFCO rad has instructions that call for a 22lb cap! You usually can't fill the radiator up completely after it's been drained or the thermostat will open and spit it all up at you. FYI the green doesn't taste as bad as the new dex-cool.

You sure you have the correct cap? And it's making a good seal where it is suppose to? Why else would it puke when cold.

Pull the new cap off and on the bottom of it there is a little metal circle, see if it is spring loaded or not. If it is not this style cap can leak when the motor is cool. It will not seal until there is a sudden increase in pressure. I dont know if this is it or not, but I would check it out.

Sounds like the new radiator has deeper neck than the previous one. Seems like the cap is not seating all the may down and allowing pressure to flow right into the overflow. Or there is the obvious possibility of operator error :flipoff2:
