ok, here comes a dumb newbie ? . i have been cruisin' around por
bb for about a year. my question is how long a shock to use if you
add a wristed arm ? i'm runnin' a duff 2.5" suspension w/ hella fender trimming and 38" swampers . i have no regard about body
damage just a lil' more flex in the front . by the way i'm using the same shocks that came w/ the duff lift , they are the 70 /30 's. if
anyone can help it would be appreciated . thanks, :p

the longer the better. most use 9012's if those don't fit a 9010 will as well i belive the 9010 is like a 10 inch travel shock

There's a little more to it that you might guess. It really depends on the shock mounts you are currently using and the shock mounts you use after you go wristed. (you will need to go with hoops or the extended Ford brackets to deal with the amount of travel the wristed arm allows)
We wrestled with this question quite a bit at our wristed arm party yesterday without any definitive answer. My best suggestion is to measure your shock mounts c-to-c at full compression and full droop after you install your arm to get it right.

Hey guys thanks for the info , I think this will help quite a bit . I
can 't wait to start on mine and get out to dial this setup in . I've
seen numerous posts on the before and after and this seems like
the best solution to a small dilemma . thanks , lorent eb:)

get the longest shock you can and make a new mount for it or buy the ford shock mounts.

It's all about the 9012's. Get those and make them fit. If you make new hoops for your shock mounts, you can make them any size you want. As for everything else, worry about it when you put them on. If you want them to work, they will work.
