: ARB Air lines, how'd ya run yours?
steveh 03-04-2002, 01:05 PM Looking for ideas, do's and dont's :D
Running my lines later today :D
Using an ARB compressor, ARB selinoids, and the blue ARB supplied 5mm air line
COME AWN !!
heavytlc 03-04-2002, 01:48 PM When I ran my line in my fj 40 I put the blue line inside of 1/4 air line. It worked great, still like that after 6years. Now I run d-line, I think it is the same as tractortrailer air brake line. Black woven cover, stainless with jic fittings, it is expensive, but will not chaf or leak.Like I said the blue stuff worked, but I covered it for the extra protection.
The Jerk 03-04-2002, 01:52 PM i ran my blue lin in my frame rails. no problems, jus tleaked at teh compressor but still worked! jiMMy
bronco78 03-04-2002, 02:02 PM Using the heavy duty ARB dif kit on the rear Currie HP9", That takes it to the right frame rail, at about the front spring hanger. Then blue line up through the floor to the compressor (mounted just behind the right hand seat)
http://www.superford.org/registry/users/208/144/PICT0004.JPG
The front ARB line runs from the Currie HP9" up along side the vent line to the right frame rail, then follows it on the top side back to the same entrence point for the rear line.
Clear as mud?
Keith 03-04-2002, 03:15 PM First, slice open a section of 5/8" garden hose, the industrial stuff is best. After wrapping the hose around the line, tape is closed like a wiring harness, with at least 10mil duct tape. Then use some aluminum foil to again wrap the length to reduce heat stress and EMI interference,(compressors dont like stray radio emissions, it sends false indicator lamp signals). To keep the rocks from flying up off of gravel roads, I would use some flexible conduit.

You been spraying that Blue paint without a mask again ? .......... :flipoff2:
welndmn 03-04-2002, 03:54 PM My frame is boxed, it runs inside the box for 90% of it :D
Other then that, put your tin foil hat on and think of the best place to stick, it where mine would rub something i put some 5/16 hose over it
Paul Gagnon 03-04-2002, 03:58 PM If you can avoid it don't use the blue hose. It is weak. I use 3/8 rubber fuel line and barbed fittings. I have never had a problem. I mounted my compressor on top of the inner fender on the driver's side (behind hammer in pic). It fit perfectly between the windshield washer bottle and the cruise control vacuum pot. I have other pictures but they are not scanned in and I don't know where they are.
