I have a cracked MM on the pass side. I picked up a pair from autozone, and they are a 1 piece design, and without pulling the motor I can't get them in.

I see that the heavy duty ones from WH and Toms look like a 2 piece design which I might be able to make work. Anybody use them or know of a way to get the AZ ones in without pulling the motor?

If I pull it no wheeling this summer :(

TIA

You can get the one-piecers in without pulling the motor. Its a PITA, but it can be done. Pull the dipstick tube off and loosen the crossmember to the point were its barely holding everything in there. A long piece of pipe and creative swearing will get them in. Think turrets syndrome.

The wild horse style is a 2-piece design and is alot easier to install. I would order them before i would be willing to pull the motor (which you dont really have to do).

Tried the pry bar thing, but that was before I put on the BL and I was smashing the valve covers into the firewall pretty bad, so I stopped. Damn was it a pain to get them to line back up. I dont want to do this again and not get them in. Just a bunch of wasted time. Thanks

Well, if you've got the spare money laying around just get the WildHorse style. They go in ALOT easier... IMHO its one of those things that is worth the extra cash just to get rid of most of the headache. After installing both i wont ever use the one-piece style again.
