Yup another issue with the YJ. You guys know how it is...:P It never ends
This is what happened. Last week I pressure washed my engine compartment to replace the valve cover gasket. After I finished that and drove it around a few days later I noticed the steering noticeably tougher to turn. This really has me baffled, because I have checked my power steering pump, hoses, and even greased my steering knuckles (i think thats what their called). Still it was no help. I should probably mention this too, although note this was happening even before I started having these issues. My power steering fluid is always high. Even when the engine is cold, its at/past a little bit the full mark for a hot engine. It almost seems like the fluid doesn't move up or down. Any ideas what this could be guys? Thanks alot

Your power steering pump may be worn, if it's not putting out the usual amount of pressure the steering is going to start feeling harder. You don't want the fluid too high, it makes the pump run hot.
