Hey everyone I purchased a crower cam for a buick 215 (rover 3.9) from d&d. The journals on the stock cam were much smaller than the ones on the crower. Mark from d&d said that it was definately the right cam for the rover motor. His father said he'd only seen this happen a couple of times in thirty years. So has anyone had this happen or am I just really lucky?

I used a Crower cam from D&D...fit the 4.6 with no problems. Could the cam be mis-boxed? What Rover V-8 engine are you working on?

I too have installed a cam from D&D with no problems.

How much too big are the cam journals? What year is your engine?

I can't remember the exact measurement, but you could visually see the difference so it was significant. Talking to mark at d&d, he said that they have only come across this maybe twice in 30 years. I bought cam #5229, and he said there was no possibility the cam was wrong.

Looks like you're gonna need new cam bearings sized to fit the new cam.
