I just bought a 97 ZJ with full time 4 wheel drive with Quadra trac, I am putting a 4 1/2" rubicon express lift with 32 11.5" wrangler MT/r's I need some pointers about putting the lift on and which lockers to get? I realize this is more advanced jeepers board but I figure I can trust your info on here more than some half ass forum, after all I am spending some hard earned dough. Thanks in advance guys.

take it out, 4wheel it and figure out what you want!!
for a newbie i say go buy yourself a lockrite or two for 230 each and try to install them yourself. thats how i got started. learn to drive, this set up will get you into way too many places before you learn to drive. after a few years you can worry about dana 60s and 40 inch tires. (each of those lockrites cost about what 1 of most of these peoples tires do)
at the very least you will avoid the mistake of spending too much money on one thing, which you will get rid of latter.
go buy a welder and grinder and try to make bumepers and rock sliders for it. after a few tries you will get it right, and you will still have less money in it than some kid with window tint and bling blings.

oh, and don't be afraid to search, dent it, or get made fun of here. go 4 wheeling !!
Stock reply follows:
Welcome to the wonderful world of wheeling - where you'll spend every dime you earn and every last minute of your free time.
We're here to talk about hardcore wheeling and mods... not how to get started. I'll be the first guy to help a new wheeler out on the trail.. but this isn't the trail.

Yah what Mo said,
Go over to Jeepsunlimited.com and learn lots. Lots and Lots of ZJ info over there, but there is lots and lots of bullshit to sift through also.
I frequent that board, simply because that is were all the ZJ people are at, not many have the balls to do to thier 40k Jeeps what most on this board do.

Like Alaska said, there is plenty to be learned over at JU, despite how alot of the folks here popoff about it. Alaska's also correct, there aren't alot of ZJers over there that will subject their rigs to that which folks do here, but there are a few....

BTW, what a sensible, soft soften, and eloquently stated reply by Mo! :flipoff2:

I heard that locker front and rear on the Full time are very hard to drive. I was going to do the same thing to my ZJ. If you are going to run lockers f/r i would do a ARB up front. So driving on the highway wont suck.
