So I am getting ready to do a V8 swap this winter in the 40. My plan was to sell my 94 chevy half ton to help fund the build. But after posting it all over the place with little interest I have been contimplating another option. the 94 has 171K on it, it still runs great but the tranny needs work. Should I pull the TBI 350 out of it, refresh it and use that with a salvage yard TH350 or continue trying to sell it to buy a motor and tranny?

tough call on that. what are you asking $$$$ wise on the truck. and what tranny is behind it. also what do you do once you pull motor/tranny/t case out, i mean with the 94???

its got a 700r4 behind it but it needs rebuilt. I guess I would part out the rest of the truck.

for $3500 i'd part the truck and keep the motor tranny and t case and all the wiring and computers for the motor. just that could run into the 3500 mark. then part out the rest.

It depends on what you can get for your truck as is. If not much, then rebuild the 350 and 700R4 and use them in the cruiser.

There is a guy in MH who does good tranny work should the 700r4 need rebuilt, Lumpdog on Planet. You are thinking of using the 700r4 right? You'd be money ahead having the stuff you have rebuilt and using it. I might be interested in your wheels if you do part it if they would fit the 80.
