No, it's not MJ. It's my new garage. Mine, all mine, to put my wheeler and all my toys in so the real garage can go back to being a 'real garage'. Wife will be happy and so will I...

Oh, man. I am jealous. I need to do that so bad, you don't even know. Hey, btw, your driveline is sitting on the floor at the front registers. People keep asking me why it's there, and I say "leave it the hell alone! Glenn's coming for it one day." :D

Little late for that, don't you think? ;)

That door opening looks a little low. Did you take into consideration any inevitable skyward projections of your rig?? Might fit now, but what about when you want (And you will) 42's? :D

I am immediately struck by the low clearance on the door. How are you going to go big on your rig with a lintel that low? Man, that's not EVEN considering the fact that there is NO way you can get a vehicle lift in there.:p

 I know it ain't gonna be big enough already. Might have to knock out a wall someday. :D Been waiting a long time for this thing. I can't believe it's finally happening.

Ranger, you're right about the retirement pay. It helps but it's definately not enough. Good thing the wife and I both have good jobs. We even work at the same place so we gets to 'carpool'. :D

I'm gonna get over there for that driveline someday Aceguy. Might just have to have one of them 'garage warming' parties. Should be done in a week or two. :D:D:D

you gonna set up some security or reinforce the doors or something? That thing looks like a target if the wrong people see what goodies you got in there.
maybe just keep the shotgun handy.

I worry about my garage, tools and rig all the time.

Well, I don't really have anything of any GREAT value. The runner and some tools and a few other toys like R/C planes. I will have it wired with an explosive device however. Any unauthorized tampering will result in lost body parts. :nuke: There's nothing I hate worse than a pfawking thief.

It is not *that* huge, 1200 sq/ft - just 30'x40', 11'6" interior height.... 10'x10' end door, side one is 9'x7' high bay for clearance.

The height is what makes it look bigger I guess.

Daniel - I had enough trouble getting the money together for this... besides, wifey told me I could not build a shop bigger than the house :p:p:p

Looks great! A detached garage is real nice to have. I don't bother anyone in the house making noise and you can make them as big as possible! Mine is about 26'x30'~ or so, and I have two trucks in there now and my wife still has her stall open to park in :D Bad thing is the PO built a hip roof on it, so it makes it more of a hassle to add on to it, which needs to be done!

I do wish I had DRM's setup though :D

DRM,
Did you get a kit and build it yourself or hire someone? I am looking at getting a shop this spring and can not decide if its worth having someone else come out and build it or get a kit.

I looked at building it myself - just did not have the time so I paid someone to build it for me.

FYI it is a post frame design, metal exterior.

And in case you are wondering, I have $14k in it right now. That includes $500 worth of dirt, gravel, 6" thick resin reinforced slab, both overhead doors are 2" stick insulated, and high bay design.

I still have to build out the office inside, it is stubbed out for a toilet and sink, as well as the shelves along one whole wall, finish wiring the lights and plugs, run water, cable, has, and electricity rfom the house too...

Man - thanks for reminding me how much work I have left to do :p

Sweet gargage.... nice to have something solely dedicated to your sport. On the topic of garages, a buddy just relocated near me and scored an awesome house. There's 2200 sf of house space AND 2900 sf of garage space! Yep! He's got 3 garages all attached to the house. Two on the upper ground level, the third on the lower level below one of the other garages. Each garage is double deep which means he can park 6 cars in one, 4 each in the other two. Floor to ceiling shelves on the sides, with wall to wall workbenches along the back wall made of 2x12's double deep. Commercial grade HID low bay lighting with flourescent lights for ambient lighting when all the HID's aren't needed, also with 220v in each garage for welders. Talk about a serious jeolousy factor on my part
