this is my first ford I've owned, and I'm trying to get as much information as possible. I wanna swap out the 208 in my bronco, with a better unit, I've heard the 205 is far better, but like I said, I'm new to the ford world. :flipoff2:

You're right, the NP205 is far better with it's cast iron case and all gear drive. But the aluminum case, chain driven NP208 is a decent unit and has a better low range (2.61 vs. 1.98). What I'm getting at here is, if it were me I'd leave the 208 in untill I blew it up. Then swap in a 205. Thats JMO though.....

Yeah the 208 will still take you through some good times. Save up your money for the NP205 and a Doubler box to go with it, then when the time comes that the 208 bites the dust, you will have a true powerhouse set on your hands.
