This may seem like the old school way with all the wristed technology out there these days, but I thought I would get some input from you guys any ways...

I am installing a 6" lift in my 78 Bronco and have run into a dilemna, how to extend the factory ford radius arms to move the rad arm brackets back on the frame onto a new cross member. I want it to be strong and safe of course seeing as I will be driving to the trail and home afterwards. I dont want to put the cheesy and expensive drop brackets on...

Any thoughts or pics would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks,

What do you expect from extended arms?

You can get radius arm extensions from Mike Ladd at www.bentandtwisted.com.
I haven't been able to reach his web site in a while. If you have trouble you can ask for directory assistance for his shop, located in Chico California. You may also be able to reach him through www.sierrarockcrawlers.com.

One benefit of the extended radius arms over wristed arms, is onroad/highway driving; less angle to the arms, means the axle will be travelling more straight up and down, as opposed to forward and up and rearward and down with shorter arms. The ride on my ZJ (Grand Cherokee) went to hell when lifting it such that the control arm anlges increased significantly. This may be less of an issue with radius arms, since they're much longer than ZJ control arms to begin with. YMMV though; I opted for extended radius arms for my first shot at a ford frontend in my ZJ.
