Hey, have a question that I thought I would ask here instead of the ORC board to see what kind of responce I would get...
I just got a hold of a nice D300 for my Zuk, for the people that don't know, I have a GM 2.8L V6 and a 2004R Auto tranny with Toyota axles and Yj springs... I didn't want to use the stock Zuk t-case and thought the D300 would be better for the centered rear yota axle.
I know some guys here as well as the "other" board have a D300 and was wondering what they did as far as mounts and what kind of adapter they used for there tranny. What about the speedo sensor, would I have to get a different plug or would the Zuk one fit?
Any and all info would be great!
Thanks :D

I have a 300 that I have adapted to a 95 ford 3.0L and 5spd, will be going in my zuk...Mounts=custom, adapter=custom, speed=custom...And advance doesn't carry anything out of the mainstream...

I am sure that the 200R4 doesn't have a removable tail shaft, and therefore there is nothing to bolt an adapter up to. The 300 is not a divorced t-case, so I think you are SOL.

You may want to look at the 700R4 instead. Not sure if it bolts up to the 2.8 , but it does have a removable take shaft, and it wil give you a few diferent options with t-cases too.

Yep, it works. The 700R4 was used in the late eighties - early nineties Blazers (4wd and 2wd) and Camaros behind the 2.8, 3.2 and 3.4. They are all the same engine more or less I think - different bore is all.

I dunno if anone make a divorce kit for the D300. Might be worth looking into before tossing the 200R4 - it is a good tranny.

yes but a th350 would be cheaper and shorter. but it would still be a tight fit in something like your sami. lengthen that thing and get some wheelbase and then throw the stuff in there. just my op

Thanks guys for the response! I can't find a 700 for a good price down here, and the guy I got the 2.8L off of has the stock Manual tranny that came out of the Jeep, he told me that it will bolt up to a D300 with no problem. I was wanting to get away from the manual but I know it would be easy to install and with the auto I would have to fab up a few things to make it work.
So, I have no clue what kind of tranny it is, but I'm going to see if it will work. He told me that it is shorter then the 200 or even 700.
Thanks for the help,

Thanks for the help,

What vintage Jeep? Maybe we can narrow it down for you.

I dunno about the 2.8 bolting to a Jeep tranny though - depends on what the tranny is I suppose...
