forget it, and besides amc doesn't make a 350. they make 304s and 360s, but no 350s.

and besides amc doesn't make a 350 Oh yes they did, 69-71. They also made a 327 from 66-69. But don't bother with an AMC motor Dustin, its not worth the hassle.

Common guys don't any of you like to be original? You can fit anything you want in their if you have the time and fab skills I like to be original but still make things easy so I have a Pontiac 350 in mine its a great cruiser engine the Pontiac has a long rod and a long stroke puts out much more torque than its chevy counterpart but is still GM the only problem is no aftermarket shorty headers no York AC brackets and other bolt ons that you can get with the chevy but I'm all for being different just be prepared to build everything yourself.
One other thing you will probably spend more money than you are saving on the engine so that would mean maybe the engines not such a good deal but that the price for not following the leader.

When I was a kid, lots of people had Pontiac's and Buicks in their cruisers, its not so uncommon. I have a 302 (Ford) in my cruiser. But the fact of the matter is that an AMC 350 is prety much junk and would be a waste of time in my opinion. Now a IH 345, that would be cool!

Nah..
390 :D
Pretty much the same block anyway...
It is actually one of the only motors I am considering replacing the 2F with. Either that or a Caddy 500.....
If you are going to go, go big..:flipoff2:

Don't bother with the AMC motors. Take it from me, I've worked on them. If you hada J**p I'd say go for it, cause they'e a drop in affair, and the torqueflite tranny's were a ton better than the 904/999, but with a cruiser, I'd avoid the AMC prodcut altogether - bad mojo.
You want an oddball motor, go with a 502 cadillac or a chrysler 360, easier to find parts for.
Or, you can be a real man and go diesel. :vader2: Come to the dark side.
As soon as my 2F dies (not likely, only 270K as of now) I'm putting an OM 617.952 3 liter, turbo diesel mercedes benz diesel in mine. Now all i gotta do is figure outhow to make it work.
