I have the waggy axle under the cruiser, but I have no idea how to mount the pumpkin side of it. the u-bolt will not fit in the stock location (sua). How do I get that u-bolt to fit?

Thanks
Dima

A squared u-bolt and/or plenty of grinding.

x2 on the grinder.

IIRC Keith Strong posted some pics when he installed one a while back.

when i did mine, i did a few things. first i did a full width conversion on my cj7. that way you can use the stock perches on the axle as reference points. then i got a 5'' gringer and went to town. i basicly ground off all of the u bolt guide casting off of the top side, beveling it to the same contour of the future perch location. u will also have to grind where the u bolts come from the bottom to the same shape as the ubolt, but this is pretty obvious what u have to do. i did all the grinding as nessicary in about 2 hours and a about half a case of beer later. as for spring perches i made my own out of 2.5 square tubing, making one side taller to compensate for the different mounting heights. this should give an idea.

if you use a square u bolt you wont have to do any grinding. i had a spring shop bend me up some u bolts and was good to go.

This has never been covered before in gory detail :flipoff2:

With a quick search I came up with a few threads:
SOA on a 44 ~diff grinding (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=82714&highlight=waggy+diff) Another one, very informative (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=65849&highlight=waggy) Here's one with the bottom web notched (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=7354&highlight=sawzall)

Gotta love the search function on this board; lots of good info :flipoff2:  ahh, just bustin yer ballz. have a good one!
