Can anyone tell me exactly what type my new patrol is? Engine is a 3300 turbodiesel.
Previous owner sold it as rust free, just some minor surface rust :flipoff2: , but the price was cheap so I didn't argue.

looks like an MQ... early 80's.
but neither of my mq's have indicators under the badge like yours.... so maybe it's a an MK. mid 80's-89 i think.
i dont think you could get the turbo diseasels in MQ's so probably more likely it's an MK.

The year would be helpful. If you post the VIN, I could decode it for you...

the vin is JN10KR160UO883656 , not exactly sure about the year, haven't got the papers yet, but i tought it was an 86 one.
thanks for the help.
What exactly is the difference between the mk and mq series?

It was built in 1/87, short-body, deluxe model, 5-speed, hard-top, light duty. It has an H233B rear diff 4.375 gears and LSD, and a C200 front diff. Being that the MQ/MK production ended in 8/88, so I'd say it's an MK.

Thanks!
Where did you find this info? What exactly is extra on a deluxe model? Mine got a tach, wich most patrols don't have, any other extra stuff I might have overlooked?
What is the difference between light and heavy duty?
Thanks!

Some pics of some of the patches that needed to be welded in the tub, had to do one weld on the back of the wheel well with a mirror, wich is very difficult.
Welders that do this on a daily bases welding structural stuff, have my greatest respect!
