I see Fresno Oxygen has the HH 180 this month for $550 http://www.fresnooxygen.com/pdf/monthly_special.pdf . This price seems hard to beat.

Has anyone had a bad experience with this welder? If not, i'll grab one this week. Lots of threads on Hobarts have been on here, seems like everyone that has one loves it. The HH 180 hasn't been out that long. Final comments before I pick one up?

All I can say is I like my 175. The liner and drive wheel lasted about a year was the only thing I have replaced so far.

That is the price I paid for the 175 on sale at an Orshelins about 1.5yrs ago.

Great machine, and a great company to do bussiness with. I drive from Placerville to the store on Power Inn for all my supplies. I have a HH 175.

My $.02....

I would pony up the extra hundred and get a Miller Matic.

Why? Replacement parts. I recently had to buy a new whip for my HH 175, actually bought the whip off a HH180- same part. It cost close to $200, another shop wanted $225 plus I would have had to wait weeks to get it.

The shop I bought it from stole one off their floor model.

I called 3 or 4 shops, all of them had M-25 miller guns for under $100 and instock.

If this shop wouldn't have hooked my up I woulda been fawked since I was in the middle of building some dude a ladder rack.

When I get the extra cash I will be upgrading to a bigger miller maching and selling the HH.

If was just a hundred, I'd get a Millermatic. It's more like $200 from what I can find and that is hard to justisfy for me. I am also completely ignorant on the Infinite voltage control on the Miller but have read that some people don't like it. Not sure if I'd like the technology since all my current welders that I'm used to are older than me at 30. Primary purpose is getting something more efficient and more portable.

I also go to the one on Power Inn for all my supplies, except for getting the Oxy/Acet tank filled. I get those at Airgas for some reason I don't recall, but been doing that for 15 years.

Right, I here ya. But mess up the whip once, and its worth it to have the miller equivilant.

MM 175 for Less then $700

Maybe check this thread out

http://www.hobartwelders.com/mboard/showthread.php?t=13034&highlight=hh180

and explore on that site, or even post. the "which one to get" question comes up like weekly, so maybe search around a bit
