cruiserbrett 03-05-2002, 09:23 AM Looks like they added all that new interior to the Bandeirante bodies they are importing these days...
BJ On Roids 03-05-2002, 01:53 PM i like it!! although i dont thinkk the body lines were even that good from factory, the smoothness of the guards and stuff!
is this a toyota thing or a custom built thing?
TVtommy 03-05-2002, 02:04 PM I'd buy one!
TVtommy 03-05-2002, 02:13 PM I'd buy one!
Cruiserhaven 03-05-2002, 02:21 PM I like that. If I had the money and an extra stall open in my Cruiser stable then I would want one.
I didn't originally care for the Bandeirante tub but seing it assembled into a finished product like that...it doesn't look half bad.
That to me is a good picture of what a more modern version of the FJ40 should look like. Spartan enough to hopefully be affordable but with a more modern look and feel to it.
What is the engine in that thing?
Dog House 03-05-2002, 02:24 PM Windshield no fold down. :(
TVtommy 03-05-2002, 02:28 PM I think this is a great idea for Toyota to bring back the FJ40. Landrover stopped importing the D-90 (FJ40's closest rival) a few years ago.
If it wasnt for the reason the LR D-90 commands unreasonable prices, I would have bought one.
I paid 35k for my "all the candy" Jimmy as my daily driver, and its almost paid off.....I wouldnt mind paying 30k for a new FJ40 with some sory of factory warranty.
BJ On Roids 03-05-2002, 02:57 PM toyota actually released a cross betweena 75 series and a 40 series shorty over here in teh early 90s
it was a collectors edition and only 4000 or something were built
maybe it was 400, but either way i only ever saw one in a magazine :( sort of retro cool, i would have bought one except they never got offered to the public, as well as i would have been to young :(
rustycruiser 03-05-2002, 03:58 PM Marv has one of the 40/70 series crosses in his museum. It was called the PX10. Personally, I like the plain 70 series more than that cross bred bastard.
As far as buying a Banderante: too late, boys. Last I heard, the Brazilian factory ceased production last year.

rustycruiser 03-05-2002, 04:00 PM Here is a pic of SOR's
TVtommy 03-05-2002, 04:21 PM Sorry, but its off the subject....since SOR has been mentioned. How are they to deal with?
BJ On Roids 03-05-2002, 05:04 PM thats the one!!!!
its uglier than i remember:eek:
but im sure itd grow on me, especially with a turbo and a spring over, just like the 55s are growin on me!!

Yeah, I remember seeing the PX10 a few years ago. I think the PX10 looks way :rainbow:
It doesn't look as good as a 40 or 70 series.
orangefj45 03-05-2002, 08:02 PM if they start importing these i'd definetly have to get one for my wife!!!!:D
