Brother has a 86 f150 that we just put D60's with 4:10 gears in and 42inch swampers on. It's used just for in the mud and the first time we took it out with the T18 in it was working fine for a while but then it started popping out of reverse. So we changed it the next morning and started playing again and the T19 did the same thing. All the other gears worked fine and when we got home and tore the trannys apart we found that both reverse gears were stripped. Anybody have any ideas of what could cause this? It used to have half tons with 4:56's in and a c6 but we decided to try the standards when the D60's were put under it and it never had a problem be fore then. So anyone have ideas??

I was going to run a T-18 till I heard of this problem with them. Find an NP-435 and that problem will be solved for you.

I never heard of this issue with them?

acutlay my t-18 ocassionaly popped out, but it's because the shifter hit the floor pan, and forced it out..

fwiw, I traded my T-18 to a buddy, and put a 435 in my truck, and honestly liked the T-18 alot better.
