With the added weight of the winch battery ect the stock TJ coils work killer but are a little soft... anyone know of a stiff stock height spring.... these are 6cyl already....
Mike-

Hey Jerk Boy:flipoff2: its a sami dude it runs on air... wow! i bet since the heater motor runs louder than the actual engine. where can i find that set up? and if u moved the driver seat to the center i bet it would lean so much with those soft coils!;) jiMMy
FJ40_1969 03-05-2002, 09:54 AM For down hill only? I bet it gets excellent gas milage!
Mike :fj: :jeep2:
Keep up the good work!
Wilson 03-05-2002, 09:54 AM What, not giving away the super secret squirrel shit wheelbase measurements yet????? It makes Jimmy's cruzah look like a stock sami:flipoff2:
Crusarius 03-05-2002, 10:08 AM What shocks you running I have a TJ I stiffened up the ride with stiffer shocks that may be a cheap easy option for ya
I run doetschtech 3000's

a couple of weeks????....try the last few days

desertCJ 03-05-2002, 10:17 AM I'm no expert, but you might try some grand cherokee springs. I have seen cherokee guys run them for a little more lift and I bet they are stiffer because of the v8 in the grands. If I remember right the fronts are the same on tjs xjs and zjs. Give it a shot.Good luck this weekend. Phil
Lockers?I dont' need no stinken lockers!Revs are my traction aiding device!:D
Sillyneck 03-05-2002, 10:27 AM stuff some of those inner spring air bags in there...they aren't reall expensive...then you can adjust all that bologna
morpheus 03-05-2002, 12:12 PM i think one of the lift kit companies, rancho, skyjacker, etc ... sell heavy duty stock height springs. can't remember where i read that ... assuming you're looking to buy new parts.
- jack
Gordon 03-05-2002, 01:14 PM put some shocks on it before changing the springs then maybe it won't seem too soft anymore.
JohnC 03-05-2002, 04:44 PM What about rears from a TJ with a hardtop? Are those any stiffer?
bilstein makes a 1 inch lift progressive rate coil for the tj, that may be of interest to yah. performance products sells them
Rock Toy 03-05-2002, 05:51 PM I'll bet the ride would be more solid if you moved the coils outboard a little.........or pony up and get yourself some coilovers!!!!
white knight 03-05-2002, 05:53 PM That's looking good!
onetoncv 03-05-2002, 08:09 PM Mike its kik ass - Jess
2Dogs 03-05-2002, 09:14 PM Soon it will be the size of the Old Bronco.....:p
Then you will need a BB and D60/14FF. Full circle.
Wilson 03-05-2002, 10:07 PM Make no mistake about it, it is evolving as a mini bronco, it'll be cut behind the cab and be a tube truck soon enough....but we all end up there eventually, it jsut takes some longer than others.
fatkid 03-06-2002, 12:03 AM Any reason for leaving the hood? Seems like you could have narrowed the front end alot by not using the factory hood. What type of steering are you going to run?
BnTMike 03-06-2002, 08:37 AM That was installed when it had fenders on it and I like the hood... You can set your beers on it like a coffee table:flipoff2:
But really I bump intoalot of trees up in the snow and need to nerf through tree wells ect..
Full Hydro Steer
its got a 96" WB and I have not moved the rear yet:)

Thanks for all the replies the blisten ones sound great..Im checking them out.... Its not damping Im after its less travel from the coils...yes I know about bumpstops:p
APRIL'S RAINMAN 03-06-2002, 08:47 AM wow looks good .how well does the hiems hold up to abuse .I have yet to use them because I don't know enough about them ie, strength , maintance warping , hold up to cold wet weather and such. but it sure looks stout .
BnTMike 03-06-2002, 10:08 AM Im a bushing guy myself but the ease of installing hiems on a trailer only rig is so easy with tube adapters.... they are kevlar hiems so they should be quiet and hold up great.. I used 1.5 inch 250 wall DOM for the links and 3/4 hiems....
BigRob 03-06-2002, 10:23 AM I will say it again I thought you were all caught up on going back to"a full bodied trail rig that didn't resemble a tuna boat"?.....LOL Looks awesome Mike!:flipoff2:
