I have recently written emails to I'd say 100 politicians concerning land closures. Especially ones in California. I dont lie and say that i am living in California, I state that I am from the south but that I am in DAILY CONTACT with THOUSANDS of Californians... (gets their attention as best I can as someone from down south).

Anyway, here is the first non-automated response that I have recieved back. Wanted to post it...

***HINT***
RE-ELECT THIS GUY!!
***HINT OVER***

"I am doing all I can to prevent further closures. Unfortunately, I and those of like-mind are in the minority here in Sacramento. However, we have had some impact on the federal government and their closures are slowing down. I will continue to work toward maintaining access to public lands by the public. Such a simple concept, but so hard for liberals to understand.

Senator Ray Haynes"

RE-ELECT SENETOR RAY HAYNES!!!!

I reffered the Senator to this post on this BB so that he could see what I put.

I also told him the member number of this board and how most of ya'll are VOTING Californians.

So, if you wanna post something, he probably wont reply on here (registration, etc...) but there is a good chance he is gonna read it.

Just lettin ya'll know in case ya wanna say somehting...

Thanks for posting this. Great to see a senator that is trying to help keep the land open FOR the public, not FROM the public.

Unfortunatlely I'm not in his district but hell you can't be all that bad if you lived in Elk Grove in 72'
It's refreshing to see that there really is a Senator that understands the concept of "Public Land"
I wonder what Senator Oller's stand is on the situation since his district will be most affected by the recent El Dorado National Forest Lawsuit.
