View Full Version : new Yamaha snowmobile
With this being the closest thing to a sled section we have here I thought this would be a place to post this. Not sure how many of you are into snow machines but here is the latest buzz in the sled world. With the trend turning toward 4 stroke powered machines Yamaha has taken the idea and kicked ass with it. The new 2003 RX-1. Powerplant taken from the R1 street bike. 145 hp :D Heard rumors it is good for around 130 mph out of the box.

Hmmm, looks and sound cool! Even though I don't do the snow sled thing, no season where I live...
wow, 130 out of the box! The design looks like it has M-10 suspension. If so that would be cool.
It wont be long till all sleds are 4 stroke. Glad I just got a 2001 2 stroke. :D
BAD ASS!!!!

Very nice...I like the front suspension. None of that trailing arm crap alot of them have. Four strokes are the future. I think Yellowstone Park will cut back to only four strokes, that is is they don't kick them all out.

Tell me about the trailing arm crap  I bent one a couple months ago, nice bill. Over all though Polaris did good by putting the Edge chassis on the RMKs this year.
You are right about Yellowstone. Sounds like it may be the end of sledding there.

$9100 - $9400 MSRP depending on color, mtn vs trail, etc. -- guessing they will be a little less than that once they hit the dealerships.
Slednecks4 is cool. Nice leg break and back flip. :D
