I've been into BMX since I was little, and finaly decided to also buy a mountain bike.
2004 Giant AC1. It's a beautiful bike, and so far am very impressed wtih it...not full downhill, not full XC, seems like a nice mix for me. Dual chain ring with 9 speed derailleur in the rear. Keeps me having fun up and down.
Bought it used a few weeks ago, was only 4-5 months old.

It's awesome, the front wheel lifts up with every rock I hit, it makes me feel really hardcore.

haha...took it out to some jumps today, and all I can say is... I suck with a "big" bike, especially with suspension. It's going to take me a little longer than I thought to build my skills up. But then again, I'll probabaly suck on a BMX bike as well since its been almost 3 years since I've hit any jumps. _nicko_
those are great bikes, i've had 4 of em over the last few years(worked at a shop) hard to beat, and the warranty is pretty good!

Make sure you slam the seat down and mess w/bar height and extension to get a nice compromise from bmx to mtb. Try riding your suspension stiff for a while if you have the ability to stiffen it... the bike that is :flipoff2:
If you go clipless on your mtb it'll ruin you when you go back to bmx, or maybe I suck cuz I can't bunny w/o clips now!

I will never ride clipless, and yeah, once I got back from riding I did stiffen everything I could, I mean everything. :flipoff2: All shocks are SPV. I'm thinking of a stiffer rear spring, but we'll see after a few more rides.
I paid 1300 for it, and the shock pump, so like 1260 for the bike. The kid paid 2200+ for it only a few months ago and there is not a thing wrong with it. The wonderful world of used things.
I have heard their warranty system is very good, which is a great thing to hear.
