i am looking for your various experiences with swapping in d-44 axles namly wagoneer axles. i want to do this and i have ready access to axles but i have never heard first hand how to do a regular leaf spring swap. i know several locals that have 1/4 elliptical and coil setups but how have you select few faired with leaf spring applications?? please do tell. :smokin: :confused: :flipoff2:

They are easy as long as you have some mechanical and fab skills. I'll be doing a full buildup on a sami next weekend and will post pics and all the other goodies, see my post "project super sami" for the specs. If you have any specific q's as far as frame outboards or extensions go, I can try to answer those for you before then

I swapped to D44's and I love em, the widthe is great and I dont have to worry about birfields. I used YJ's all around but I'm going to replace the fronts with something with an offset pin. It's not extremely difficult to do but plan onit taking longer and costing more than expected. one of the main arguements is about the front axle. I left it alone and ground down a portion of the housing for the spring over. I haventhad any problems with it.
