View Full Version : FMF SST pipe, worth it?
Anybody have a fmf sst pipe on their bike? Does it really make that much more of a difference than just a regular fmf or PC pipe? I'm doing the exhaust on my 02 yz250 and was just wondering if its really worth the extra $$$. Thanks:D

Its worth it if the $$ is burning a hole in your pocket :D
wait till the stock pipe is smashed (and even then it's still fixable)

depends what you ride the sst is a national outdoors type of pipe. If you ride trails go with the gnarly pipe as it gives you low end boost. The fatty will give you a little hit al over the power range. just remember the sst will only give you top end power so if you keep your engine singing 24/7 while riding is the only way it would be worth it.

The SST is designed for the track as in racing. While racing you are always way up in the revs and that is what it is designed for, even so FMF only rcomends it for fast tracks as on some bikes it will slightly hurt low end torque.

as far as the sst goes i thing it is a good pipe combo but for just the price of a pipe i would look into the adjustable ers pipe i just got it the other day and i love it i put the rev adapter on and havent taken it off yet it still has plenty of low but revs up more like a 125 which i prefer but i like to make them sream ( makes me feel more in control ) i just dont think you would want to add more low end with the sst i ddint even notice a lost in fact kinda thought it had more it was just such a smooth transition from bottom to top :rasta:

I ride a honda that is known for low end grunt but I prefer the over rev high rpm rush so I went to a pro circuit pipe. But different people have different riding styles and preference in rpm range so it depends largely on you. Also depends on what kind of track/conditions you are riding in as mentioned above.
