I know you specialize in teh big dogs...but I am looking to get a de-commissioned HMVEE that is full open top, any color, with a blown motor and a torn up suspension (so basically a military convertible hummer body and frame)
any ideas on availability or cost?
I think that SAS and a better engine than the 6.2 and I could have her rolling big in no time.....
whad'ya think?

I've heard there's a dealership here in Michigan that "civilianizes" army hummers but when they got done they want around $30k for one.
Daniel, do all army vehicles still take the same key? I remember back at the Chevy dealership years ago we had one key that fit all the blazers & trucks.

I have heard they just had a switch that you turn to start and a chain for the steering wheel

Did a little searching and if you just want a humvee for the body and intend on doing a SAS on it why not just locate an older SA Blazer or Bronco and get ahold of these guys http://4x4kits.com/
