Looking at getting the poly windshiled from Roadlessgear.
Its about the same price as a glass one but they say stronger and doesnt scratch up easily.
Anyone using one?
What are pros and cons?
how hard to install? Same as normal windshield?

Even "scratch resistant" polycarbonate (Lexan) is way more scratchable than glass, IMO.:D
I wouldn't plan on using my wipers much!

so you do not think it is a good IDEA?
I really dont use wipers all that much because I only play with it when its nice out or in the snow. No rian or mud for me really.
No one has actually used the poly windshiled from roadless though .
I just figured it would be nice to not worry about breakin glass out. I just got a new windshield in my jeep and wheelin and a budy threw up a rock and put a lil crack in it.
Plus I have been pleagued with having hoods fly up.
Anyways
Thanks

So, how many times does the hood have to fly up, before you get smart enough to TIE IT DOWN?

go to a plastic shop and make your own, much cheaper and you can replace it when it gets fawked up

ive used speed glass before on the race car.. i didnt belive them at first when tey told me it didnt scratc.. that is untill i got it to the shop and trimed it to size. i tryed to scratch it with all sorts of stuf.. and with the exception of realy leaning on the 80 grit it wouldnt scratch.. its tuff stuff.. and no, it doesnt haze from washer solvent.

Hey Flexy! I really hope you're having a shatty time in Florida! Jerk. Go for the poly. I believe it is the same stuff used by NASCAR, and they don't phuk around. The only reason it isn't "street legal" is because in case of an accident, they can't break the window out. But, of course you drive a Sammi, so they can just pick up the whole mini-rig and throw it in the ambulance!
And PLEASE don't do the exo cage thing. It's totally:rainbow: . I can't take you to any of the good trails in the Hills with that crap cause we'll just end up cutting it off to get you unwedged from the pointy rocks and tree branches. It's just paint, dude. It BELONGS on rocks!

dont try it ........fold the damn thing down (or unbolt it )'
Ask Tim hardy about plexi-crap . Late model yj hood tie downs
work pretty well for your hood issue , I just used pins and 86'd
the poopy stock hood latch.:smokin:

It is NOT plexi-glass. It does not scratch, haze or break. Jeez. I think he should do the poly and leave the hood latches alone, cuz there is nothing funnier than following him and watching the road disappear through his windsheild! Flex is a body builder(hence the name) and it is hilarious watching the Sammi about fall over at 60 mph on the highway when he leans out to see aroung the hood!
