View Full Version : 05 Frontier Nismo locker?

I plan to jump around the OE wiring to enable the factory rear locker to engage at any time. Has anyone tried this, and if so what were the results?

It's lame of Nissan to design it so that it will not lock in high range or at speeds over 12 mph.

Considering that most people do not know what a locker is, no it is not lame of Nissan. Why would you need a locker above 12mph?

can't engage the TRD locker outside 4lo either without bypassing it. I think that is the way most factory lockers are. correct me if I am wrong.

Don't know the answer to your question though, sorry.

You can blame the lawyers for that ya know. Seems like rubis are the same way.

Agreed. I plan to figure out the Nismo locker wiring and publish an article that "fools the factory".

It's probably as simple as providing the right wire +12v


edit: if it's anything like the toyota electric locker, have fun. It's not as simple as a 12v+ wire :(

That's cool, but you cannot lock it if you are going faster than 5mph.

Ever mud bog? Have to rock your truck out? Those tires get spinnin'!!! I'll be damned if the ECM turns my locker off. That's why I have a Detroit, no bullcrap to deal with. So when is Tractech coming out with one for the new Frontier?
