I have a 95 hardbody 5 speed 4wd. I just got this truck and I'm in the process of redoing the interior. All the interior was gutted other than the seat. I am installing the carpet and I'm stuck with what to do w/ the shifter boot. I think I am missing a trim piece or something.I would really like some pics of this area if anyone has some. Thanks for any help.

That's the best one I could find for you. That's out of my 95 XE 4x4 Regular cab.

Thanks. Is there a gold piece that is showing around the bottom or is it covered by the boot,or carpet. I would really like a picture of where the boot enters the carpet. Thanks for the pic.

On the bottom of the shifter boot, there is a ring bolted into the bottom of the cab. This ring acts as a gasket between the shifter boot and the exterior. The bottom of the shifter boot has a lip that bolts in under that ring.

Is there anything to hold the carpet down? OK I have the gold ring, boot, black piece that holds the boot firm from the inside at the bottom, and the black rubber pieces to keep rain and debris out. So if I understand you correctly then the boot sits on the transmission hump and the gold ring bolts down from the inside to hold it down. Now where does the carpet fit in? Does it cover up the ring?

It goes: tranny hump, black rubber gasket thing, shifter boot, gold ring, carpet. Nothing really holds the carpet down, it just sorta sits between the accordian part of the boot and the gold ring. My carpet tends to sick up a little around the edges.
