: Can I run a 44x18.5" TSL on a 15x10" beadlock?
1TONTJ 03-06-2002, 07:02 AM Came across a possible good deal on some 44's, and I have nearly new 15x10" MRT beadlocks that I do not want to have to replace. Think I could run 18.5" wide tire on a 10" wheel? Anyone else ever done it?
Thanks,
Phil
PJTPW 03-06-2002, 08:23 AM You should be able to run that set up witout any problems. I know a lot of the larger tires specify a 12" wheel, but I think that's a manufacturer recommendation or spec more than anything else.
I'm running 44x18.5x15" Ground Hawgs on 15x10" Eaton Beadlocks (3.5" backspacing) and haven't had any problems. I prefer the 10's over a wider wheel like a 12 or 14" wide wheel to keep track width a littler narrower.

bigblaze 03-06-2002, 09:04 AM they probally work a little better on 12s not to mention get your tire a little more off set without having minimum back spacing but yeah my spare is currently on a 10, no problem and my buddy has four brand new boggers on 10s cause his 12 inch beadlocks did not get to him in time for oregon mud madness
redruM 03-06-2002, 09:44 AM hummm that makes me think about runnin my 42x15x15's on an 8" wheel.. that would reduce my overall width from 88.5 to 86.5 and probably raise my heep up a little ???

bigdude 03-06-2002, 10:32 AM If you decide not to then I'll be interested in buying them MRT's from you.:D
Think it over:D
the frog 03-06-2002, 03:28 PM well, not only that you can use your 15"x10" MRT's, but it's
even better than the 12".
one thing you have to check carefully - some 39.5" & 44"
tires have thicker beads. if this is the case with your
44"s, then you'll have to make spacer rings to be installed between the beadlock rings!
otherwise the bolts of the beadlock will be too short and the
rings will not hold. this is for example, the case with 39.5"Boggers produced a few years ago.
good luck

1TONTJ 03-07-2002, 11:03 AM Just made arrangements to trade my 38;s for a set of 44's.
Thanks for the info guys.

Use longer bolts. :) :)
the frog 03-07-2002, 12:20 PM i hope this was a joke.
at least it seems like one according to the smilees....
seriously - those thick beads will make your rings fold inwards
without the spacers.
you'll need longer bolts(huh, huh,) but also the spacers.

1TONTJ 03-07-2002, 01:30 PM Looks like it's a moot point anyway. I have been convinced by many friends that I should stay with the 38's for now.
Back to axle shaving and such to make the most out of what I have...
Thanks,
Phil
