I have just pulled a 22rte to put in my 85 4runner I have the turbo transmisson too. I Was going to send it to get rebuilt And bored And Forged piston So I could turn up the boost, then I found a 2003 v6 with 11 miles for 1150 bucks plus all the all the computer and Harness ects and he will even let be grind the motor mounts ot. Would I be able to get this to work. Would my turbo tranny mate up with it. There is little info that I have seen most Info that I have found on the bill board stops after 2002 and i cant find if the R150F even cme with the 2003 let alone how it compares to the R151f that I have. I know they ar eboth 23 spline. help!!!

Your R151 will work with the 5vz. You will need to use a V6 (3.0 or 3.4) R150 bell housing. This will bolt right up to the 5vz and the R151. You will also need the flywheel / clutch / TB, etc from either the 3.0 or the 3.4 Do not mix the 3.0 with the 3.4 stuff - use one or the other. IIRC the 3.0 has the clutch slave cylinder on the RH side while the 3.4 is on the left.
The R151 (gear drive Xfer) is a much better trans than the R150 (chain drive Xfer case).
This will make a nice swap.

how hard do you think the motor mounts would be or might they be the same? also would any modification need to be done or just the bell housing. do you think this would be better nhan a 22rtebuilt up?
