This is one of those thing where I know it won't work but would like to know why. If you have hydro assist steering, if you disconnect the draglink, will it still steer? Basicall being a poorman's ghetto full hydro. I know this is a dumb question but can't find the answer on my own. If it makes ya feel better to call me a dumbass, feel free. As long as I get the question answered with a technical explanation. Thanks.

It will still steer. Kinda. When the steering box reaches full turn then the ram will start pushing. You could chain/bolt/weld the pitman arm in place so that you wouldn't have to make 3.5 turns to be able to turn the other way, but then you would basically be using the steering wheel as an on/off switch for left and right turning. You wouldn't be able to control the speed it turns, and it would be just akward in general. You could actually accomplish the same thing with a simple valve, "the frog" did that on a small buggy he made with a lever for steering.
simple answer; no, save your pennies to do it right. I suppose it would be good enough to get you off the trail if you broke a draglink and couldn't fix it, but I wouldn't use it for anything other than that.

Thanks. I had a feeling it would be something like awkward steering. Wasn't really planning on doing it, just wondering.
