My Great Uncle recently passed away, so I made a trip back to CO to get some of his old tools. Gobs of wrenches, sockets, punches and typical farm implement tools...
Allot of the wrenches and sockets are made by "Herbrand". Anyone familiar with this name? I would like to find a dealer to warranty some of the tools if its possible. I searched the net but I couldnt find any relevant contact info. Any help is appreciated
Thanks

Herbrand is a vintage tool name. they were good stuff, but they arnt around anymore. Kinda like thorsen *SNIP* and plumb. Sadly, they wont be waranteed. You can probably get decent money for them if you can find a vintage tool collector. there are a few big sites out there that I have come across where people have been looking for old tools.
That is of course, if you are not sentimental about them. I have an old snap on ratchet that was my great uncles. The handle is very similar to one of thier screwdriver handles, and it came off a little while after I got it. I didnt want to warantee the thing because there is a little bit of sentimental value to it. So i mixed some epoxy and now youd never know waht happened.

Cool. They look and feel like they are well made tools. Found a few Plumb, Thorson, Williams, S-K and BluePoint wrenches as well.

Yup if he had Sks from about the same time as thorsen they are gunna be either SK lectrolite or sk wayne. Sk wayne was up too sk facom in 1985.
As for plumb, they carried that name until 1950, when they switched to proto because of copyright shiz, orsomething along those lines. it wasnt until much later that stanree bought proto. That plumb stuff is very good stuff. Williams, is currently a subsidary of snap on. They were thier own brand.
if im not mistaken those williams tools you have will say "super' in front of them? ie "superwrench"
You did get some good stuff, but not exactly a great tradeoff.

I would hang on to the old stuff.A lot of these old made in USA tools are good quality and not replaceable.I have some other old brands not mentioned that my grandfather gave me...VLCHECK,UTICA and Dee Tee Co.

These tools (with the exception of some of the big stuff) will be primarily for home/trail use. All my good stuff is at work, so this is a win/win for me.
