: Funny FJ40 on Ebay
Deep South Cruisers 03-06-2002, 01:50 PM You are bidding on a 1980 FJ40 Toyota Land Cruiser, this is the last year Toyota made the old body, classic style jeep. One of the best features this Land Cruiser has to offer is it's original stock 2F-6 In Line engine block. (You just don't see blocks like that anymore). The engine starts, idles and runs beautifully. The same goes for the transmission, which is a four speed manual. It has a Holley carburator kit and headers. The transfer case (a.), and the clutch, (b.), were replaced last year, (a), and the year before, (b). The clutch shifts smoothly with no problem and the brakes are ok. The jeep has no power steering and obviously no air condition. Moving down to the suspension, the original springs were replaced with 2 1/2 inch Rancho Springs, shocks were replaced with Rancho RS 5000 shocks, and the stock/factory shackles were also replaced with 1 1/2 inch shackles from the manufacturer, Desert Steel. A dual shock Rancho Steering Stabilizer has also been added for stability and looks. The 4WD works, but it does not have a front drive shaft due to the suspension lift of the coil springs and the shackles which were a total of a four inch lift, (for looks), and unfortunately I don't have the front drive shaft.
The body was lifted three inches higher, (for looks). I do not have the hard top and the doors were cut at an angle to give a different look. The rims are ULTRA 16 inches and the tires are 38.5 inches Denman "GROUND HAWGS" and are almost new, (just for looks). Please look at the pictures below. The jeep has some rust, you will not be able to see it in the pictures, because it has been filled with bondo and then painted over. The entire rear floorboard has been replaced with a 10 inch gage sheet of metal and the driver's floor with a 14 gage sheet of metal. The passenger side has a 3/4 inch piece of plywood on the floor and no seat, as pictured. The driver seat needs to be replaced. Jeep has no radio, no wipers, (but it does have the wiper motor components and box), and none of the gages work, including the odometer. I'm guessing the jeep must have about and around 100,000 miles give or take.
Line up Boys!!!!! This ones gonna sell QUICK

rabid 03-06-2002, 02:01 PM Wow...coils AND leaf springs. That must be HUGE.
dog walker 03-06-2002, 02:02 PM LOL, the further along I read, the "jeep" just kept sounding more and more like a peice of shit! At first I thought it was a decent sounding rig just owned by a :clown:

Deep South Cruisers 03-06-2002, 02:44 PM maybe he'd throw in a hand whittled front drive shaft;)
Blucruz 03-06-2002, 02:45 PM Not a bad looking rig (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1809386699&r=0&t=0)

cruiserbrett 03-06-2002, 03:06 PM I like the trash bag seat cover. It's just for looks, or maybe so you can suffocate yourself when your friends see you in your "jeep"...

BJ On Roids 03-06-2002, 04:12 PM tour the shows with your "grouse" jeep...
mate that bondo is realy showy, and the coil/leaf setup..almost looks factory ;) in fact, its so well designed, im having trouble spotting the coils..
back it up to 1980, and that RARE 2F, "You just sont see blocks like that anymore"
on a serious note, i like the mags, but the 3 inch body lift, would have to go...... http://images.andale.com/f2/124/117/7705024/1015000645980_Front_Suspension.jpg
the trick steering setup hardly wanders across two lanes of traffic :rasta:
going on the cheque book one that wngrog posted...... he should be asking at least the 110 to 115k
for a straight out off-road rig, though, it has some potential, and the price doesnt seem that bad, as far as our cruiser prices are anyways.....
Land Crusher 03-06-2002, 04:25 PM all most makes me want to sell my fj40
if he gets 3500 for that I might be willing
to part with mine for 10000
wasnt some one recently trying to sell a
decent rig for 6000
oh yes I forgot the fj for 6000 wasnt street legal
probubly something wrong with the title.
MD11Fr8Dog 03-06-2002, 04:47 PM Magicstixx really really really wants that "just for looks" Cruiser bad. At least he's not TOO stupid. He quit bidding on a CJ7 and started bidding on a Cruiser!!

Yeah that was my rig thats for sale for 6000. But there is nothing wrong with the title. And I never said it wasn't street legal, I just never drive it on the street (trailers and towrigs are great that way)
I just can't believe this guy is getting bids for $3500!!! I recently tried putting mine on e-bay and never got over $2100. dayum.

BigRedFJ40 03-07-2002, 09:36 AM I just want it for the "10 inch gage steel rear floor". Not to mention the sick coil setup......... Pretty expensive rubber for "just for looks". What a :clown:
MD11Fr8Dog 03-07-2002, 06:10 PM "Just for looking" around at eBay today and thought I'd check out who is
bidding on that "just for looks" 1980 FJ-40. The seller is
"clearancesupercenter", the high bidder as of 655pm MT is "loovi@aol.com" and
the previous high bidder was "nenavaro".
loovi@aol.com has 3 feedbacks, one from clearancesupercenter and two from
nenavaro
Bidder beware!!
Obviously not affiliated, and also not interested in the FJ-40!
orangefj45 03-07-2002, 08:46 PM what the hell?!

MD11Fr8Dog 03-08-2002, 12:24 AM Damn do I feel good!! I just reported clearancesupercenter, loovi@aol.com and nenavaro to eBay for suspected shill bidding! All three have been bidding on each others auction items over the past 30 days!:flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2:
Mikeys 03-08-2002, 05:04 AM I just hope the plywood on the floor is exterior grade, I wouldn't want to see it delaminate if it got wet!:trooper: :skull:
FJ40_1969 03-08-2002, 10:16 AM I emailed the seller and she said she could care less as long as it sells, I don't think it was her cruiser by her attitude!
Mike :fj: :jeep2:
