: Offset distance on early jeeps?

Does anyone know how much the diffs are offset on an early jeep...in inches from center.

i've heard that it is 6 inches.......don't quote me on it though

on my 48 2A the rear diff is offset 4 inches to the right..

If you measure the offset between shafts on the D18 t/c, it's about 7"

You also have to remenber that engine/transmission /transfercase is offset to the driverside 2 inches
