When I dropped my car off at the shop last week, I noticed a Scout in their yard. I told 'em that if they want to get rid of it to call me. Well, they called today and said I could have it for $250! The guy wasn't too sure of the year, but it's got a 345, w/D44 disk in front. He said the mfg. date code said 12/7*, he said it looked like either a 3 or a 5. I'm guessing it's a '76. It hasn't been run in about 5 years. The ignition module is gone...bet it was a gold box too! Not too much rust, and the gears are 3.54's. MINE, MINE, MINE!:D

SWEEEEEEET!!!!!!!! :bounce: :bounce2: :bounce: :bounce2:

$250 what a steal! You just gave me an idea, there's a shop by the local NAPA that works on german cars, with a scout II in front, been there a long time, no move. Maybe I should try the same?

Nice score.

That's pretty sweet.

Last week I was at the FAB shop here in town, and talking to the owner; found out he JUST pucked up a '79 scoutII with a 345 and Auto for $200.00 :eek: and it RUNS and looks SWEET!!. This especially sucks since I paid $450.00 for mine and I'm still tuning it.

He said he was gonna "throw" a camo spray can job on it and turn it into a "HUNTING BUGGY" This kills me, but the wife say's "I CANNOT, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES OFFER HIM $300.00 FOR IT!!" .......So $400.00 it is ;)........... Just kidding the last thing I need is another project.

:flipoff2: Hey now...can you blame me for being stoked? Gonna put the 3.54's under my '76 and rebuild my 3.07's into 3.73's. The springs on it are dead, and almost all of the vacuum hoses are cut/plugged. The interior, while dirty, is in great shape and only real rust I saw is on the passenger side qp. Momma didn't even bat an eye when I told her about it. Scout, bet you can't own just one!

The bitch is, the gold box is gone and I just promised mine to Hooper! :flipoff2: Just kidden Hoop. I'll swap a points/pertronix in it, tune it up and let my wife drive it so she'll leave mine alone.:D I'll get pics as soon as the deal is done.

Must be lots of these floating around again....

It looks like I may have bought another Scout too. It's an 800 with a v-8 , manual tranny, twin stick t-case and a full top. Other than that, I dunno. My buddy found it at a scrap yard and called me. I told him to throw a couple hundred bucks at the guy...half joking...well, my buddy talked him into $200 for it (he wanted $500). So, the only thing that I need to check for is the availibility of the title.:)

I'll let ya know if I get it and WTF it has in it other than the above description....
