OK so I know little about Crusahs but this kid wants me to do his suspension. He is using it as a daily driver but wants to tackle some rockcrawling occasionally. So I thought spring over in the front with either his stock leaf packs or F150 leaf packs or the toyota rear leaf packs, and then running coils in the rear as I have done with a couple of jeeps. What year is the best for the F 150 leaves, what is the ride quality like, how do they hold up after time, and what do they flex like? Anyone use anything else? I'm looking for something soft and pliable yet stable for daily driving. Thanks. Also would like to know how much lift to expect after settling with these different packs.

I asked many of thes ques. about a week ago. Here are the cliff notes...

Very flexy,
Have to fab all new hangers,
center pin off center by 7inches
2-3 inch lift unless you recess the shackles into the frame
shackle legth&location (obviously) affect lift
Use late 70's leaf packs-cheap and plentiful
no info on road ride

try the search for more detail,

to me, very flexy generally means soft ride!
