Any interest in a OR/WA PBB wheelin' trip prior to the "ultimate tour" in August. For me the sooner the better :D Snow gets old after five months and I'm ready to head that way. Sometime in April over at Browns Camp maybe?

As long as it won't interfere with school or work count me in! If the timing is right, I'd even play hooky! PM me or just put in the date and time when you want to go. I don't know anyone on this BB, but I'd like go wheeling with some locals.

I've got a few friends from up the Canada direction that want to check out the dunes in Moses Lake, Washington. We were thinking possibly sometime in June since there is a big S10 run in May, and the sand won't soften up till June anyways. I'll keep you posted. Just tossing out the idea to see if there is any interest.

I'm playing a trip on the 4th of July at Moses Lake. By the way Moses Lake dosen't open until 4th of July weekend.

Doesn't open for camping till the 4th, or open period? We have always been able to go year round with no hassles.

Well I think you can camp and play in the smaller dunes area, but the larger area past the fence by the water doesn't open until July. I think, thats just what I read.

Isn't that the area the were trying to close? By the water? Fawk it. July 4th parties are always more fun anyways.:smokin:

Here's our plan so far...

A group of two or three motorhomes pulling our junk from LaPine plan on heading out Thursday April 4th, we plan on wheelin' Friday, Saturday and Sunday and coming home Monday. We have only been there five times and still get turned around some so a better trail leader would be cool. We are looking to hit the hardest trails TSF has to offer. As for what we're bringing...

Two CJ's (both Dana 44 front and rears and I'll be trying to break my new Warn axles and CTM's :D ) a Yota, all locked, all have winches, all sportin' Boggers, 33" on one Jeep, 35's on the other Jeep and the Yota. We are pretty well equiped for trail repairs and ready to get away from this damn snow :jeep:

With some of the trails the way they are I would suggest a couple of groups depending on how built the rigs are just so everyone has fun. Cedar Trail was somewhat of a bitch in spots for our group (locked, 35"-38" tires) and had to winch a few times.

James, I can't make it this weekend. Too much shiat to do. Probably got more snow the last couple days huh?

Attn notcrazyjustnuts I could be your trail leader. I could show your group around the brown camp area. I no the area fairly well. tjoop can back me up on that, and my vehical is fairly capable too.

edit: I would suggest something get done with that exposed culvert on Cedar. Forest Service isn't going to like that. (bypasses are bad) Any suggestions?

Map quest? We don't need no stinking map quest... Bounce your mouse across this link http://www.odf.state.or.us/tsf/recreation.htm and learn all you want to know about the area, and how to get there. They even have a map of all the trails just like the hard copy map.

Which campground? Browns? What CB channel you runnin'?

My RC44 won't be done till the end of the month but I have a couple spare axles for the Toy so no prob there. My pwr steering pump is sounding like the bearings are going to come outa the case for some reason. I'll probably replace it this week.

I'll probably be out Sat. fairly early, I'll come looking. What time are you guys heading out of camp in the mornings? Look for a grey exod runner on boggers, not sure what you guys are driving, there are a lot of yota's and jeeps out there.

Hey Brien, I was thinking of making a run Saturday to test out my new axles and lockers ( green jeep with my wife and son last trip). I was going to see if anyone from OBH with at least a winch wanted to make a "fluff" run.

We will be in Browns camp, we haven't really figured out a departure time but we will be up and ready to hit it fairly early, kinda waiting to see what time people wanna show up because we will wait if need be. Here's a pic of our rigs...we will be on channel 4 on the CB? Looking forward to some good wheelin' and meeting some of you guys.

Hey Norm, I didn't realize you were on here. "Fluff" huh, what you planning on breaking;)

Well I was planning on runnin' w/these guys on Sat. Isn't that what you're thinking? Glad to here you got locked up. What axle is new?

Went out Sat. w/some cruiser friends. We tried Rogers Rd. again 'cause I just couldn't imagine it was too tough for us. It was. Made it just as far as we did on the OBH run. The lead cruiser had 38.5 Sx's and dual lockers, a 350/350 combo and plenty of attitude. The rut on the downhill side got scoured out by run off and is probably about 3 feet deep. No tire tracks in there. He couldn't get out of the rut to try the high side but was pretty sure he would end up on his side if he could have. It was ugly, I'm not sure what it would take to make it, maybe some 44'ers.

I'll be around Browns at 9 to meet up w/these guys, the cb will be on 4. I'm coming solo ( I have a passenger ).

See you then.

Brien

I put a ford 8.8 with 4.88's/ detroit in the rear and 4.88's lockright in the front. I don't have disconects yet, but it's better than open 3.07's. I think archers should be fun, there may some snow left near the top. Two weeks ago we had to winch everyone through that spot by the fence post and big rock. The bypasses are tore up, Kevin and Linh almost rolled there toys. If it rains a bit that could be some real fun ;) .

Raptor
04-02-2002, 12:25 PM
I agree, Archers is fun. We went over by Diamond Mill in the morning and hit a bunch of snow but it was all old and rotten and took a lot of work getting through. I'm tired of snow, especially this time of year.
Wow, going from open both ends to locked both ends. Have you been out yet? It's won't be the same rig anymore, you'll love it.
So are you going out there then?

I just found out that Sat. may be a good oportunity to finish my cage so if it's the only chance I have for a while I'm going to take it. I'll post up and let you know either way.

Yep, Can Opener did him in AGAIN..........one other guy tried it too, in a lonbged Chev on 44's and did almost the exact same damage as Shannon did when you guys were out together. This time Shannon crunched the back passenger side............then later broke the rear passenger side window! I was gone by then, had a fam function.............I'd have tried it, hear if you're locked front and rear it's doable with the right line. Powerline was fun.........barely full size friendly but fun..........

Can't make it this week or next............. - still trying to make it to Solv on the 20th.

Bummer, looks like I will be doing cage work on Sat. but that leaves Sunday open.

Hey James what's up? I thought that might be you but wasn't sure. Leonard's not going to have the front axle done till after the 22nd ( damn ). I hear you broke an outer axle Sat. Startin' already huh? L thought maybe it was defective or something.

You know those 2 cruisers I was w/Sat.? the white one ( Red's, the guy I introduced you to) w/the 454 ended up doing a little body damage on Archers. That's only the 2nd time he's been out since endoing down the little rubicon 2 years ago. He's really cautious these days. We're trying to get him back into it but he's put so much into rebuilding his cruiser he's scared to hurt it anymore.

If you're out Sunday I'll try and find you.
