: GM Alternator

I just picked up a new buggy that has a 1.8L isuzu diesel out of an 83 chevette, the battery had been moved to the back and the alternator was never properly wired, The back of the alternator has one post and there are three small wires coming out of the top of the alternator, I've been told these three wires need a ground, power, and a wire that fluctuates power.

I ordered a one wire alt. figuring it would mount up to the same bracket(out of a GM) and then when I went to pull the old alt. tonight I saw the vaccum pump is on the back of the alt., it has one line to the brake booster and one line going into the block. The one wire alt. has no way to mount the vaccum motor. Can anyone get me going in the right direction for wiring up the exsisting alternator? Or will I need to pull it apart and install the one wire components? Here is the only numbers I found on the current alternator:

LR155-12C
894234 9872 (then a circle with a negative symbol in it)
IC Reg Built In

If I am not mistaken, none of those three wires are ground. With a diesel, one will be Tachometer, one should be ignition switched power and the other is supposed to go to your voltage distribution center and it senses voltage drop due to vehichle demands and adjust the voltage regulator to increase output. I can't help you on wiring because I have never seen this particular alternator, but any decent manual for the same year vehichle the motor came out of should have good wiring diagrams.
