Ok probably a stupid question (just trying to get the basics down) but how hard is it to replace the seal in the drive shaft output for the pinion?
What do I gotta do. oh and does anyone have pics of a welded up 60.

Also how do I tell if my 14 bolt is a 10.5 or other for a detroit to go in. I'm asuming it is a 30 spline 14 bolt.
thanks, Jeff

For the 14 bolt I think almost all of the FFs are 10.5. I dont have a clue why you would want to weld the 60 and put a detroit in the 14, you got it all backwards.

Put the Detroit in the 60 and weld the 14B.

You need to mark the pinion nut and count the # of turns to take it off so you can get it back in the right place when you put it back together. It will be on there TIGHT!!!.

Dana 60 does not use a crush sleeve. No need to count turns or mark the nut. Remove, remove the yoke, replace seal, and reinstall yoke and torque to 300 ft lbs.
