I think it would work well with a few things - first stretch the wheelbase maybe 20" mostly in the rear so you can fit some crawler gears (klune or double t-cases) and a rear driveshaft. You will need the low gears because of the size of tire to run on the 14 bolt. These guys run a 22re in a flatty: http://www.ottindustries.com/Willys_Story.html There is another guy on this BB that has a toy drivetrain in his flatty also, mudtruck44 link (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=147756&perpage=25&pagenumber=1)
I run a full width 44 front and 14 bolt on my flatty and it looks good, cant say how well it performs yet though since it is still being built.

this guy also has some Toy running gear in a flatty: http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=6472.0
if you have the stuff lying around, go for it, but if you're buying axles, I would go for Toy stuff.

ya i already ahve axles and am planing on building my own frame but i want to see some other built frames and see how they turned out and if n e one can give me some possible pointers when i start the build im plaing on running s 10 rear springs im not sure if i want them in front or back i am also thinken bout ford van springs so i might run van springs in front and s 10s in the rear but at the same time i am like well im biulding the frame i mite as well do my 4 link in the rear at the same time. but i need to just make up my mind and decide on somethen finally. :shaking:
