What backspacing are you running with hi steer?

What is the most backspacing you can run with the high steering set up?

On my YJ, I'm running ford f-150 rotors (78 Ford dana 44) that are 11 3/4" diameter and cj style calipers (45/16" high). Having a very hard time finding 15x10 rims with a drop center bore that will fit with a lot of backspacing.

To avoid cutting down the axles, I want to run 6" of backspaced wheels. But I'm concerned that it will hit the avalache hi steer arm set up I will use. Anyone run into this problem? Custom rims? Too expensive, but easier than cutting down both axles...

Also, besides Twisted Customs, anyone else change hummer wheel bolt patterns to 5 on 5 1/2"?

You will not be able to get a 6 inch back space to fit. The most will be around 4 inches, but I know that with 3 1/2 indces mine are pretty close. Try going to a 16 inch wheel. May give you more room to work with.

I have the 4.25 backspacing, but I had to put small spacers in to clear the 8 lug stiff, not the histeer arms. I would think 4.25 would be enough, 6 seems like a lot to me....doesnt that kinda take away from some of the idea in running full widths?

With the 6" backspaced rims, it will still stick out about 2" on both sides.

I'm trying to keep the po po at bay and not give me a hard time about tires sticking out or being lifted too high because the Jeep is my DD.

Keith- are you running 15 or 16 x 10's?

It is sunny and 70 degrees today! It's almost quitting time! Time for some  !

Looks like I might have to run with the 16x10's.

The 16's have a saftey bead like 15's do don't they?

If you're meaning the lip at the outer edge of the wheel's tire mounting surface, then yes (16.5's don't have this). A 16" wheel is pretty much identical to a 15, except the OD....

Yes, but if in fact you are running an F150 D44 it wont matter. I have the 3/4 ton 8 lug stuff is why 15's dont fit good. If you have the 5 bolt pattern it wont matter to you
