Turbotoy, I can understand your frustration. But, you should do a little research before you jump to a conclusion. Take a break and read the following links:
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=378375 (specifically post #11)
http://www.delalbright.com/Rubicon/when.htm
I hope the links were able to enlighten you. Do you now realize that the bigger picture is keeping the trail open to all? Do you now realize Jamboree’s further the cause to keep the trail open? Do you now realize it’s not just all about you? I sincerely doubt that your rant will win us any battles or make us any friends or keep the trail open.

thier rigs are totaly stock and have no busness even being on the trail!
You're right, stock Jeeps have no business being on the Rubicon.
Just stock Studebakers

First you are not allowed to cuss in this forum.
Secound they have a parade permit and have exclusive rights to the road. Third follow the money they can do what ever they want sad but true, thats just how things work.

they have a parade permit and every right to tell you to leave. if your truck broke, maby it shouldn't have been on the trail as it obviously wasn't built for it :shaking: . look at the picture posted above, it was a "paved" road at one time. it sounds to me like you need to research a bit before traveling up here and running the con.

The Pirates had special permision to be their this weekend and had a good time at buck.
As far as the stacking of rocks I didn't see much. As far as road closed signes YES their was. As far as blocked trails yes thats keeping them were they were not to be wheeling.
We sat at camp Saturday and wached them go by. It was allot of fun and entertaining waching people who spoke no english take directions from trail bosses who only spoke english. I think I saw people from every country in the world. Everyone was vary polite and respectfull of the trail. (more than I can say fore some ) The trail was spotless on the way out. GREAT WEEKEND :smokin:

Turbrotoy, I know the folks you are talking about and they are not the jeepers jambo cook crew. They were the cook crew for the Buck Island repair crew. I just wanted to make that clear. I was there this past weekend and the jeepers jambo cook crew were absolutely fantastic as usual. And like The Jerk said, the jeepers jambo has been the same time for years. I can understand how you would be pissed off, but it is what it is!

TURBOTOY, if you would like us to listen and discuss this issue you need to listen to us and quit cussing in here NOW.
Same closure same time every year. Rude people are just that and I can agree they are no fun to deal with. But like said above if you follow the money it goes back to the Jamboree's not to mention that the folks running it own most all the private property on the trail (Jeepers Jamboree not Jeep Jamboree). If it wasn't for their kindness you wouldn't even be able to drive from Loon to Ellis as most of the Bowl is owned by Mark Smith I believe. In fact and if I am wrong I am sure I will hear about it, but it is my take that using the trail is a privilage given to us by the Private property owners on either end of the trail and along it as well. If they wanted to I would bet they could get the trail closed
I personally think you need to just do a little better planning next time to avoid this situation, is something we do every year. Figure a week before and a week or more after that the trail is paved. You aren't going to change this by ranting an raving. Unfortunately you are going to have to learn and deal with it just like the rest of us.
Sorry you had a cruddy expirience up there, hope next time is better for ya! :smokin:

Hey i agree to a certain point with turbo yota guy, I have been on the jamboree and have been up thier at the wrong time and they are pretty rude
wait actually they are straight up A HOLES but they do have the trail by permit so nothing legally you can do about it even though they need to realize that are are not the god of the rubicon most of them are just yuppe's
But what i don't agree with what the turbo yota guy said is that he is grouping jeepers together, Here's how it is as i believe, a lot of jeepers that run tha jambo are just like the weekend harley guys who are trying to bee cool with every thing they own say harley on it.Example: last trip to the con i stop at gas station in p.p. and there was a gruop of biker that pulled in thier and ever thing they all had on waas harlt davidson even thier watches, boot, and jeans. they are old guy who can finall get one and so they do and think they are the business, weel alot of jamboree guy are like that too. they where thier jeep sweaters and hat and think there real jeepers when they are not and they pay ungodly amount of money to go up there and get told what lines to take and where to park and how to act and they f ing love every minute of it
if this paragraph made no sense read it again
any way turbo yota don't group every body to gether if you look closely you will be able to tell who the real jeepers are and they are the good guys on your side and next time you go up thier and see the jambo guy just feel sorry for them and be glad you are getting the real experience of the con

Those cooks kick but. Period. Get off of them.
I didn't read TurbroToy's post before it was edited. However, I did have experience on the Jeepers Jamboree this weekend. What I experienced was a really well set up traditional event that suited every type of wheeler. The harder sections were taped off for flow reasons and that they probably didn't want to fix your junk when you got stupid in the tough stuff. I didn't see all that much stacking of rocks compared to what is normally there on any given weekend. I was actually on the Con the weekend before and saw little to no change.
This was the 53rd year for the Jeepers Jamboree doing this event and they have a good thing going. Whatever the complaint was by Turbro, I am sure it can be brought up in a respectable way to the masters of the event and be used constructively to improve the event in the future. However, it sounds like it was a non-paying customer on a closed trail complaining about how he was treated when he shouldn't have been there anyway.
Whatever it was, I didn't see anyone being an a-hole up at the event and thank everyone for a good time. The Jamboree de-virginizing was enlightening :) We will have pictures and our take on the event up soon enough.

I appreciate folks chiming in here to keep the Rubicon Trail Talk forum a bit different than other forums, perhaps. We don't slam one another and we help each other, while not cussing and chasing off the kids who want to know more about our wonderful trail.
thanks, Del

thanks Turbrotoy, back at cha. We're all here to figure out more about our trail and how to keep it open. Sometimes we all need to vent a bit. Just ask me. This is my 44th year of wheeling and my 23rd year of trying to fight the guv'mt and keep our trails open. :)
