Anyone have pics or specs on how they did it?

I got a template rfom a buddy who has a kit to change a 60 front tp 6 lug, I just want to see if the bracket template will work for me too...

Ford or Chevy 60? If it's Chevy, extreme gear offroad in Orangevale, Ca has the brackets for $150/set...might be easier to buy them instead of making them.

Click here for their "Extremely" informative website (http://www.extremegearoffroad.com/index.htm)

They machine the hubs and the rotors also require a little machining..they wanted $300 just for the machining work...

Actually, it just occured to me..this post says 3/4ton stuff but then it says 6 lug...WTF?

Extreme Gear can do the 6 lug brackets...they won't work for the 3/4ton 8 lug conversion though.

Wagoner Machine sells an entire 3/4ton (8-lug) conversion for Chevy's which includes, brackets, rotors, calipers, and misc hardware for $550. No hub machining required.

It is actually a Dodge 60 front I will be using.

I got the template from a friend who has a 6 lug 60 conversion kit (Currie?) but I was just wanting to know if the template for the caliper bracket would work for the 3/4 ton brake conversion for the Dana 60.

As for being easier to buy than build - I already have the template, and can plasma cut it, then a press to drill the holes - so no, it would not be easier to buy it since my only cost is the 3/8" plate for the brackets... and that does NOT cost $150 ;)

Why would these brackets not work for the 3/4 ton brake conversion? The only thing I see that could be a problem is if the 3/4 ton rotors are a differewnt diameter than the 1/2 ton rotors they used in my buddy's kit... so I would need to modify the bracket to account for that.

Or maybe the bracket does not space it out correctly for the different rotor.

So any people who have done the 3/4 ton brake conversion - is your caliper bracket flat, or offset in some way?

The difference between 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton brakes is the caliper spacing. 3/4 ton uses a larger diameter rotor so the caliper is farther away from the center of the axle by 1/2-3/4" not sure of the exact measurement.

So I may need to make the bracket "taller", right?

Exactly, not by much though.
